If you have been following prophecy for any length of time, you are aware that the "Gog-magog" coalition will invade Israel from Israel's north and the northern part of this invading coalition consists of Russia, Iran and Turkey. The fact that we have seen this alliance materialize over the past several years is fascinating - not to mention that these forces are already staged in Syria, just to the north of Israel. Unless you are completely desensitized over the past few years (which is understandable) - this recent alignment which includes having military bases just a few kilometers north of Israel is stunning and yet more proof of the literal nature of prophecy. Things are coming together very rapidly now - the pace of these significant prophetically related events has increased yet again.
Russia has reportedly placed its advanced S-400 air defense system near Iranian weapons factories in Syria. The factories purportedly produce long-range guided missiles for the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah to use against Israel.
The report of the S-400’s protection of Iranian weapons factories comes three days after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the issue of Iran’s “military entrenchment” in Syria and Lebanon with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres during the U.N. leader’s visit to Israel.
Netanyahu met last week with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin in the Russian resort town of Sochi, discussing how Iran’s “accelerated” presence in Syria threatens Israel and the Middle East. Yossi Cohen, head of the Mossad intelligence agency, reportedly presented Putin with “sensitive, credible and very disturbing detailed intelligence” of Iran’s expanding military presence in Syria.
Since becoming actively involved in the Syrian Civil War in 2015, Russia has worked closely with Iran in support of President Bashar al-Assad’s regime. Israel, meanwhile, has allegedly conducted several missile strikes targeting Iranian-sponsored weapons convoys heading to Hezbollah.
Turkey is preparing to launch the second phase of Operation Euphrates Shield after the next round of Astana peace talks scheduled to take place on September 13-15. The Turkish military has prepared a road map. This month, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned of upcoming operations on the Syrian soil.
Hayat Tahrir al Sham (HTS), an alliance led by al Qaeda's former Syrian branch, has consolidated its grip over large parts of Idlib after their main rival, the Kuwait-backed Ahrar al Sham, was ousted from the province's main towns and villages. The HTS is even crueler than Islamic State (IS). Its leadership rejects the very idea of dialogue with anyone. The group is a great spoiler and a hindrance on the way to Syria’s crisis management based on the Astana peace process. No ceasefire or peace is possible as long as this Al-Qaeda affiliate controls the province and its border with Turkey.
After airstrikes Turkish troops will enter the northern part of the Idlib province to establish a de-escalation zone. Turkey will coordinate its activities with Russia and Iran. Russia will exchange intelligence and keep the air space open for unmanned aerial vehicles’ flights.
Russia and Iran will operate in the southern part of Idlib while Turkish forces will be advancing from the north. In June, Russia and Turkey announced the plans to set up a jointly controlled de-escalation zone in the province. Russian military police units have demonstrated their effectiveness as peacekeepers in other regions of Syria. They are ready to join with Turkish military establishing and safeguarding a zone in the northern part of Idlib after jihadist formations are routed there.
Ankara is also coordinating activities with Tehran. Last month, a senior Turkish delegation from the National Intelligence Organization (M.I.T.), the Turkish Armed Forces (T.S.K.) and the Foreign Ministry met Iranian and Russian officials in Tehran to discuss latest developments in Idlib and Aleppo, particularly in the district of Afrin. This month, a high-level Iranian military delegation visited Ankara to discuss further steps in Syria. According to Daily Sabah, a Turkish pro-government outlet, a Turkish diplomat said that the Turkish and Iranian military chiefs «shook hands on a joint de-escalation zone mechanism in Idlib, which would also include the Russian military».
Russian President Vladimir Putin warned Friday that the tense standoff between North Korea and the United States was on the verge of large-scale conflict and said it was a mistake to try to pressure Pyongyang over its nuclear missile program.
Putin, who is due to attend a summit of the BRICS nations in China next week, wrote in an article published on the Kremlin’s website ahead of his trip that he favored negotiations with North Korea instead.
“It is essential to resolve the region’s problems through direct dialogue involving all sides without advancing any preconditions (for such talks),” Putin wrote.
“Provocations, pressure, and bellicose and offensive rhetoric is the road to nowhere.”
The situation on the Korean Peninsula had deteriorated so much that it was now “balanced on the verge of a large-scale conflict,” said the Russian leader.
North Korea has been working to develop a nuclear-tipped missile capable of hitting the United States and has recently threatened to land missiles near the US Pacific territory of Guam.
On Monday, Pyongyang, which sees joint war games between the United States and South Korea as preparations for invasion, raised the stakes in its standoff with the United States and its allies by firing an intermediate-range missile over Japan.
“In Russia’s opinion the calculation that it is possible to halt North Korea’s nuclear missile programs exclusively by putting pressure on Pyongyang is erroneous and futile,” Putin wrote.
