In The News: Middle East Peace Effort Now A Joke. Wars And Rumors Of War. Persecution.

Abbas Dumps Another U.S.-Led Peace Effort

[When will it become obvious that Abbas et. al., simply do not want peace? Is it not painfully obvious yet?]

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas did not announce his walkout from the negotiations with Israel or directly turn down the package of far-reaching Israeli concessions which US Secretary of State John Kerry assembled with Binyamin Netanyahu early Wednesday, April 1. He simply turned his back on the commitment he made ahead of the talks to refrain from unilateral applications to UN bodies while they were in progress. As soon as the US Secretary flew off to Brussels, he sent out applications for  “the independent Palestinian state” to join 12 UN agencies as members.

This was after the Palestinian leader upped his price for meeting Kerry’s request to extend peace diplomacy from April up until the end of the year. He demanded that Israel raise the number of 26 Palestinians due to be released from jail this weekend, to 1,000. They must also include Israeli Arabs.

He was not satisfied with Israel’s offer to free another 400 terrorists and accept a partial settlement freeze; Israel must release the same number as it traded for Gilead Shalit, the Israeli hostage held by Hamas, he said.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu tried to calm the anger in his cabinet and the Israeli public over the bottomless Palestinian capacity for extortion.

Mahmoud Abbas placed deliberate obstacles in their path by holding the diplomatic process hostage to continual Israeli concessions.

Later Tuesday, informed US sources said that it would be a long time before Secretary Kerry agreed to return to the region.
This finale followed a rapid succession of somersaults in the fate of the Middle East peace talks during Wednesday

When he landed in Israel Monday night, Kerry brought Israel the fresh Palestinian demand for a tenfold increase in the number of Palestinian security prisoners listed for the fourth round of releases – 420 instead of the original 30 – to include also Israeli Arabs, which a large number of ministers oppose.
Israel was also required to accept a freeze on settlement construction on the West Bank as well as Jerusalem.

These concessions were the Palestinians’ price for accepting the extension of talks up until the end of this year.

Palestinians, fully conscious of Kerry’s objective and his pressure on Netanyahu, saw their chance to continually up their stipulations for more Israeli concessions as the price for keeping the talks afloat.

Kerry’s peace effort has demonstrated the truism established by all its forerunners that it is only kept alive by successful Palestinian blackmail. In all former cases, this formula has brought peace diplomacy to demise.

As President Obama was his teleprompter on March 20th to announce sanctions against Russia, Syrian rebel forces led by al Qaeda-linked Islamic Front and Jabhat al-Nusra launched a surprise offensive in northwestern Syria near the Turkish border.  The offensive, known as “The Martyrs Mothers,” captured the three area border crossings into Turkey and killed Hilal al Assad, Syrian President Bashar al Assad's cousin and head of the militia known as the National Defense Force. With the U.S.secretly arming the rebels and President Obama in Saudi Arabia, the new Cold War with Russia is heating up in Syria.

Reuters and other media sources confirmed on January 27th that the U.S. Congress had secretly approved supplying supposedly “small arms” to the supposedly “moderate” Syrian rebel factions in the south through September 30th.  Reuters reported deliveries were not to include weapons such as shoulder-launched surface-to-air missiles, known as MANPADs, but Congress approved anti-tank rockets. The Martyrs Mother’s rebels have used both antitank and surface-to-air missiles during their offensive.

Prior to Russia’s intervention in the Crimea, Saudi Arabian officials were reported to be “highly displeased” over Washington’s overtures to Iran and reluctance to strike Syria and have threatened to break away from the US sphere.” In October 2013, Saudi intelligence chief Prince Bandar bin Sultan vowed to make a "major shift" in relations with the US in protest over the Obama Administration’s decision to backpedal on plans to launch airstrikes on Syria in support of Saudi Arabia’s proxy war as the chief financier of anti-Assad jihadist groups aimed at toppling the Syrian government and rolling back the influence of Hezbollah and Iran in the region.
The timing of President Obama’s announcement of Russian sanctions, the Syrian rebels’ offensive and the President’s trip to Saudi Arabia at the height of the offensive may have just been coincidental, but all three issues viscerally impact Russia’s vital interests. Prior to the Syrian rebel offensive and the president’s trip to Saudi Arabia, 50% of Americansbelieved the U.S. and Russia are “headed back to a new Cold War.” With Syria’s civil war heating up, the odds of a Cold War with Russia are moving up.

NATO has suspended all cooperation with Russia over the Crimea crisis and questioned Moscow’s claim to have withdrawn troops from near the Ukrainian border, saying it could not confirm any pullback.
The Western alliance’s latest statements came as Moscow heaped even more pressure on Ukraine’s teetering economy with a painful gas-price hike, undermining what had been tentative signs of a calming in the worst East-West standoff since the Cold War.

Ukraine’s parliament met one of Moscow’s key demands by voting unanimously to disarm all self-defence groups that sprang up across the country during its political crisis, which first erupted in late November over the then-government’s decision to ditch a landmark EU alliance.
But tensions remained high more than two weeks after Moscow formally annexed Crimea, and NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said the alliance was “suspending all practical cooperation with Russia, military and civilian’’.

Rasmussen warned he could not confirm Russia had pulled away from the Ukrainian border.
“This is not what we have seen,’’ he said as NATO foreign ministers gathered for two days of talks, including US Secretary of State John Kerry, who flew into Brussels between shuttle diplomacy stops in the Middle East.
Ukraine and the United States have accused Russia of massing thousands of troops near the border and have expressed concern that Moscow plans to seize south-eastern parts of Ukraine that are home to large populations of ethnic Russians.

The goal will be to modernize Ukraine’s armed forces, including through Ukraine’s involvement in more of NATO’s military exercises, according to Rasmussen. As of now, the efforts to modernize will come short of sending weapons to Ukraine.
Ukraine provided NATO members with a list of "technical equipment" it required for the nation’s armed forces, which did not include weaponry, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrey Deshchitsya told a news conference after meeting with NATO ministers.
NATO and Ukraine issued a joint statement after a meeting of their ministers in Brussels. They said that they would “implement immediate and longer term measures to strengthen Ukraine’s ability to provide for its own security.
A series of meetings in Brussels was called on Tuesday in response to what the bloc sees as Russia’s aggression in Ukraine and its annexation of Crimea. The bloc called on Moscow to reduce its troop number in Crimea to pre-crisis levels, withdraw them to their bases and taper military activities along its border with Ukraine.
Ministers ordered military planners to "develop as a matter of urgency a series of additional measures to reinforce NATO's collective defenses", a NATO official told Reuters. This might include sending troops and equipment to NATO allies in Eastern Europe, holding more exercises, taking steps to ensure NATO's rapid reaction force could deploy more quickly, and a review of NATO's military plans.
Military planners will come back with detailed proposals within weeks, the alliance official said.

[Keep in mind - the U.S. fully supports the Muslim Brotherhood]

Eyewitnesses have given a harrowing account of the murder in Cairo of a young Coptic Christian woman, hauled out of her car and beaten and stabbed to death by a Muslim mob, apparently targeted because of a cross hanging from her rear-view mirror.
The incident occurred in the Cairo suburb of Ain Shams after mosque prayer services on Friday, when police clashed with Muslim Brotherhood supporters angered by army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s decision to run for president.
An eyewitness appearing on “90 minutes,” a program on the al-Mehwar satellite network, said 25-year-old Mary Sameh George was attacked in her car near a church, where she planned to deliver medicine to an ill and elderly woman.

Protestors climbed onto her car, collapsing the roof, then hauled her from the vehicle, beating and mauling her – to the extent, he said, that portions of her scalp were torn off. She was stabbed multiple times, her throat was slit and when she was dead, the mob torched her car.
One Coptic outlet said that according to the health ministry, the young woman had been stabbed at least a dozen times.
The death of Mary Sameh George received little coverage in Egyptian newspapers.

Conservative attorneys have come to the defense of a student who was simply talking about Jesus in his campus quad when administrators told him to stop because he did not have permission to preach and he might offend someone.
Alliance Defending Freedom filed a lawsuit earlier this month on behalf of Thomas Nelson Community College student Christian Parks, 24, saying in court documents he was prohibited last fall from his constitutional right to free speech under an onerous and unconstitutional campus policy.
“The First Amendment strongly protects the rights of individuals to freely speak,” Kerri Kupec, a spokeswoman for the firm, said in an interview with The College Fix.
One day in mid-September, “Parks decided that he needed to inform his fellow students and other passersby of their need for salvation through Jesus Christ by preaching in the open, outdoor areas of the … campus,” the lawsuit states, noting the Hampton-based college is on 86.5 acres, and the area in which Parks preached was in a “courtyard that resembles a public plaza with tables and benches.”
He had given similar talks two times earlier that semester, but on Sept. 13 –when he began to do the same thing– “three uniformed officers” approached him and shut him down, the lawsuit states. A few days later, when he tried again, another uniformed officer came and told him to stop, it adds.

Kupec, in an interview, pointed out that when Parks was asked to stop talking, he was not blocking any building entrances or exits, nor did he carry any signs or using anything to “amplify” his voice. He also was not saying anything inflammatory, she added.

The lawsuit, Parks v. The Members of the State Board of the Virginia Community College System, explains that students’ First Amendment rights to free speech apply to sidewalks and open spaces on campus. It also contends students have the right to express their views anonymously and spontaneously.
“It is repugnant to Mr. Parks that he, as an individual citizen and student at a public community college, must notify the government in order to speak on campus when he feels convicted by his religious faith to speak and preach on campus,” the lawsuit states.

“The First Amendment does not protect against being offended – that would be an impossible task,” she said.
The idea of free speech is especially important at a college or university, she added, because these are “places where some of the greatest ideas and movements in history and birthed and developed.”
College officials have declined to comment to the media, telling the Daily Press that they do not speak on pending litigation.

Report: Obama Admin Released Tens Of Thousands Of Illegal Immigrant Criminals ... President Obama's Department of Homeland Security caught then released 68,000 aliens who had previously been convicted of a crime, a new report from the Center for Immigration Studies shows. The report, provided to Breitbart News ahead of its late Sunday evening release, reviews internal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) metrics to conclude that the Obama administration released 35 percent—or 68,000—convicted criminal aliens back into the U.S. general population when they could have been deported. – Breitbart
Dominant Social Theme: Fedgov is committed to enforcing all applicable laws.

Free-Market Analysis: All three branches of the US fedgov have come unmoored from representative democracy and are actively promoting globalism under the approving eye of the power elite.
All three arms of US government constantly support more intrusive government, undeclared, endless wars and lawlessness in support of expansive globalism. Yet US citizens do NOT want more intrusive government. They do NOT want endless, serial wars. And they certainly don't want violence and chaos to intrude on their communities as a matter of policy.

The US government and the people it purports to represent are moving in opposite directions. This surely was not always the case, but it is now. And this would tend to explain why the Obama administration is refusing to remove violent immigrants from US communities and generally refusing to enforce immigration regulations.
As odd as it sounds, the strange actions of the Obama administration – unsupported by many in the electorate – are both purposeful and determined. The administration is undermining civil society for a reason.

The actions of the various regulatory agencies of fedgov make sense within the context of the emergent North American Union we've been reporting on once more these past few months.

The North American Union is intended to complement the European Union and supposedly will be composed to begin with of Canada, the US and Mexico. In order to carry out what is essentially a fait accompli, those at the top of the US government are seemingly putting policies into place that will merge the three countries gradually instead of all at once.
NAFTA and CAFTA removed a good deal of industry from the US because the US and Mexico need to be evened out in terms of industrial opportunity. Various military and civil policing pacts are eroding the boundaries between Canada and the US – which has imposed a Constitution-free zone around the US.

There are many other initiatives taking place and policies being implemented to accomplish the goal of a North American Union. But one of the most egregious and energetic is the increasing mingling of Mexicans and US citizens.

Those who lead fedgov speak constantly of representative democracy but their actions show us something else entirely. Unfortunately, even the alternative 'Net media does not usually fully explain why this is taking place.

A media site like Breitbart is apt to explain that Obama is "soft" on Hispanics and Hispanic immigration because it wants the votes of this powerful constituency. Others will have different interpretations.
But it is simply not true. Just as it is not true that the West's serial wars are being waged to gain resources. The real motivation for the ongoing lawlessness and violence of the West has to do with the intention to create and expand spheres of CONTROL.
Gradually, globalism merges the world via war, economic chaos and regulatory function and dysfunction.
