"U.S.: Scud delivery uncertain"
Officials say while intent exists, actual transfer is in doubt.
Officials expressed doubts Saturday as to whether Scud missiles were recently delivered to Hizbullah from , as has alleged.
While senior American officials told Reuters that the “intent” was probably there and that some sort of transfer may have taken place, it was unclear “if the rockets themselves have changed hands."
OK.....So according to the U.S., the "intent" was there, but the delivery probably didn't take place...
But wait - Hezbollah has a different story:
"Hizbullah admits receiving Syrian scuds"
Hizbullah sources confirmed on Thursday that the group had received a shipment of Scud missiles from Syria, the Kuwaiti paper Al-Rai reported.
Despite this confirmation of what Jerusalem has been saying for days, the Syrian Foreign Ministry denied the reports, saying Israel was trying to stoke tensions in the region and could be setting the stage for an Israeli “aggression” to avoid Middle East peace requirements.
The IDF came very close recently to attacking a convoy carrying weapons from Syria to Lebanon, but at the last moment decided against it, according to The Wall Street Journal.
According to Al-Rai, Israel sent warnings to Syria through Turkey and Qatar that it would “bomb Lebanese and Syrian targets in case the missiles crossed the border and reached Hizbullah.”

Hizbulah officials say they received a new delivery of long-range scud missiles which places all of Israel within its reach, Israel Radio reported Thursday.
If it weren't so sad and symbolic, this would be comical. The U.S. administration is so desperate to aid and assist the terrorist groups who surround and threaten Israel, that they provide immediate cover for such groups - based upon lies, even when Hezbollah doesn't need nor want such cover. One would think that the U.S. would at least check with the terrorist group du jour, before constructing lies to cover their action. In this case, Hezbollah didn't want such cover, as shown by their admission.
The reason this arms shipment is such a big deal is shown in these quotes from the first article posted above:
Some Scud missiles have a range of hundreds of kilometers, meaning that guerrillas could launch them from deeper inside Lebanon and farther from Israel's reach. Scuds can carry a warhead of up to 1 ton, making them far larger than the biggest rockets previously in Hizbullah's arsenal, and are also more accurate.
Israeli defense officials have said they believe Hizbullah has obtained Scud missiles capable of hitting targets anywhere in Israel. President Shimon Peres earlier this week directly accused Damascus of providing the weapons.
Regardless of whether it possesses Scud missiles or not, Hizbullah has missiles that will enable it to hit most of Israel, and Syria can hit the entire country, Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilna’i said Saturday.
Hizbullah's leader, Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, has said his followers have more than 30,000 rockets and are capable of hitting anywhere in Israel. Those claims match Israeli intelligence assessments.
The question now becomes - what will Israel do with this information?
One thing seems certain - there will be no help provided by the U.S. - at least not to Israel. There is no evidence that this will happen under the Obama regime. There may be some help provided in the region, but unfortunately, it seems that the only help provided would be for the terrorist groups.
